photography and stufff

I was just looking through some LJ groups to pass some time and came across this one. http://community.livejournal.com/darkpinupgirls/ some wonderful work here. I'd like to try something along these lines, but where do you find the models? "Hi, I'd like to take your picture." just sounds like a cheesy come on line.
