geocaching and other stuff
Mar. 2nd, 2009 11:11 am Now that i'm healing up well and the snow's starting to melt, I'm gearing up for geocaching again. Lots of sites close by. I did a quiry for evvery listed cache with in 10 miles and ended up with 800 some-odd. Should keep me busy for a while.
I've discovered a new type of cache called a virtual cache or waymark. There is no cach to find, but you have to find a location then take a photo or find some information to prove you were there. It's a lot of fun becouse you can see cool things and places you never knew were there. Most of the time you don't even need a GPS unit, you can just plug the coordinates into google maps and you'll get close enough to find it. I imagine you could bike to a lot of the sites, give you a destination for your excersize. Have a look at http://www.waymarking.com/
